The territory of Casentino consists of four valleys in which traditionally is divided province of Arezzo. In this valley runs the first leg of the Arno river, originating from Mount Falterona. The valley is bounded on the north from Mount Falterona, bordering the Romagna. L'Alpe di Serra and the Alpe di Catenaia separate, East, the Casentino from high Val Tiberina. To the west instead we have a mass of Pratomagno separating from the upper Valdarno. The shape of territory Casentinese and type oval, formed by its large forests of mountainous areas and plains and hilly areas of the valley. The Casentino territory is divided into 13 municipalities which form part of Mountain Community Casentino: Bibbiena, Capolona, Castel Focognano, Castel San Nicholas, Chitignano, end of Verna, Montemignaio, Orbetello, Poppi, Pratovecchio, Stia, Subbiano and Talla. Among the most important centres of Casentino is to Poppi, which is part of the club of "most beautiful villages of Italy" and Bibbiena, the main craft and industrial center.
